Alastair started off working in sales after leaving school, and fairly shortly afterwards, started in the Stone Industry.
Having developed key contacts, in 2004, he decided to form his own Stone Maintenance company, trading as Silex UK.
Over the past 20 years, he and his team have grown the business, focusing on the UK & the Channel Islands.
As well as overseeing & managing the business, he is still sometimes spotted on the grinding and polishing machines.
